What Are Groups?

Community Groups are a powerful feature that allows members to organize themselves around shared interests, topics, projects, or any other commonality. They function like mini-communities within the larger site, offering a space for focused interaction and collaboration. Here’s a breakdown of using Groups:

Key Features and Functionality:

• Creation: Any member can create a new group. PLEASE NOTE that Groups are monitored by Admin. Duplicate, excessive or unrelated to the network will be DELETED without warning.
• Membership: Users can request to join groups, or group moderators can invite members. When you create a group you become the moderator/admin of that group.
• Activity Stream: Each group has its own activity stream, allowing members to post updates, share links, ask questions, and have discussions specific to the group’s topic.
• Forums (Optional): Groups can have their own dedicated forums, providing a more structured space for in-depth discussions. When creating a group, you will have the option to add a forum (recommended).
• Privacy Settings: Group creators can choose from different privacy levels:
  • Public: Anyone can view the group’s content and join.
  • Private: Anyone can view the group, but members need to request and be accepted to join.
  • Hidden: Only members can view the group and its content. Membership is by invitation only.
• Administration and Moderation: Group creators and designated administrators/moderators can manage group settings, members, and content.
• Notifications: Members receive notifications about activity within the groups they belong to.
